i Student Council Ambition is to involve eager 'Traditionally Student Council is the way to get involved, and help improve school life and representatives sought new methods this year. The addition of a parliamentarian allowed everyone the chance to offer suggestions and hold more organized meetings. Mason also became a member .of the Michi- gan Association of Student Councils. This pro- vided a way to compare progress with other councils throughout the state. Many members of the student body partici- pated in the new policy of raising and lowering the flag daily. They were also better informed on what was happening around the school be- cause of the activities calendar posted in the lobby each month. Student Council Officers. Gary DeVar, president: Pam Brissette, recording secretaryg Kay Patten, corresponding secretaryg Terri Samrnons, treasurer: Kathy Varion, vice-president, Mrs. Norma Clark, sponsor. Missing from picture is John Bennett. 28 A plaque is presented to Mr. Stuart Thorell on be- half of all the students by council officers Kathy Varion, Terri Sammons, and Gary DeVar, in recognition of his service to Mason. Mr. Thorell left in January to accept the position of principal at Waterford Township High School.

'.'R.M.N., we're here again, is the slogan of the poster being created by Cheryl Thornton, Judd Dotson, Barb Tosto, and Joe Calme, for one of the buses going to Washington. H-S-4 ,V Y W 'Dhree top candy salesmen, Adela Anzures, Susan Shupe, and Dru Hicks, enjoy receiving prizes of 520, 515, and 525, respectively. Altogether the trio sold over 500 boxes. 30 Q 'aff' EA
