MEZZ' Rhonda Lynn and Carol Jensen point out essential articles a baby needs. Preparing for a new life Due to the split sessions in the Central High building at the beginning of the year, Home Economies students had many adjustments to make in their currioultun. However, most stu- dents agreed that it was worth the wait to get to the new equipment at Stevens. New kitchens gave students the opportun- ity to cook with some of the latest equipment. Students also made outfits on new sewing ma- chines. In addition to cooking and sewing, Home Economics students learned techniques to help them in their households. Different forms of art were offered to stu- dents during the year. Students could start with basics in Art I and Work through Art IV, each year bettering abilities as artists. Other art courses that were offered to students were Commercial Art, for any student wishing to go on in commercial advertising, and Interior Design to give students an oppor- tunity to learn and express their ideas of design. Stevens has talented artists Pratt Harkins arranges a sketch as Ann Meyer looks on. Chuck Thomas and Dennis Yahne make a rough draft. I

The physical education program at Stevens High'School was extremely different this year. Because of facilities and having only one gym, the boys and girls participated in co-ed gym classes. In observing these classes it was noticed that the students learned to be more tolerant and more respectful of ability differences. Even though the classes were co-ed, both sexes en- gaged in their own activities. For instance, the girls Worked on gymnastics, While the boys bet- tered their basketball skills. Mr. Williams supervises as Jack Gossman leads his class in their routine calisthenics. s
