Language promotes understanding The four languages which were offer- ed at SHS were French, German, Spanish, and Latin. All provided excellent oppor- tunities to become acquainted with the cus- toms and ideas of the respective countries. The classes progressed numerically, the larger number representing the more ad- vanced class. By continuing with a language for several consecutive years many stu- dents have become fluent and some, through summer programs, have the opportunity to p study in a foreign country. Julie Hessman and Val Parker d1scuss French painting. Kord Smith, Pat Elston, Susie Gunderson, Cindy Binger, Steve Ramsey, and Gary Spindler all hope to study in Germany this summer.
