p Taking 3rd in state Track season was quite successful for the mighty Raider team, placing 3rd in the state track meet and winning first place trophies in the Douglas Invitational and the Pierre Relays. The Raiders also placed second and third in many other meets this year. Helping head coach Gene Breernes were weight coach John Sterner, hurdle . coach Ken Lindstrom and Vault coach Carl Katzenberger. With only seventeen boys going to state, Tim Haggerty was the only one taking first place. Twenty-nine boys lettered in track this year. Seven of the lettermen were sopho- mores, nine juniors and thirteen seniors. For Duane Bunkowske, as Well as anyone else, hur- Mark Hanson, Rick Jarboe, Dave Collins, Bob dles demand good timing.
