EDITOR ' S MESSAGE During the past four years we have all lived together, studied together, and matured together. Now, at graduation, we go our separate ways, and for most of us, only the pictures in this year- book will serve as reminders of our former classmates and of our life at Stern. I hope that you will all appreciate this book as a mirror of our senior class. I would like to thank the people who worked so very hard and who helped me so very much in the preparation of this book. First, Ruthie Voehl, for her tremendous amount of work on the senior pictures and the faculty section. Second. Mimi Fischer, not only for her artwork, but also for her good humor and encouragement throughout the year. Third, the 14th tloor maids, for not disposing of the scattered dummy sheets, the countless pictures, and the piles of ad blanks and information sheets which spent the year on the beds, desks, and tloor in 14 F. Fourth, Judy Singer, for a job well done. And finally, two special people, without whose help there would have been no yearbook, Tina Levine and Shaye Cohen.

J DEDICATION In dedicating our yearbook in honor of Mrs. Esther Zuroff we have chosen to recognize one of Stern ' s unsung heroines. In her capacity as placement ccxirdinator she is known to he helpful and efficient, and as a link between the students and the administration she is a warm human being whose dedicated efforts on behalf of the girls are gratefully received. Not being directly connected with academic life, yet being an integral part of the school has not kept her from developing friendships with the students. We are very proud of such rela- tionships because it helps to make college seem less impersonal. The time has come to recognize a vital force in our college com- munity without whom life these past four years would have been lacking the smiling warmth of a wonderful person.

Despite the hard work, the unbelievable lack of cooperation, the sleepless nights, the overwhelming problems, and the burden of responsibility — no part of this yearbook was as difncult as this one page. There are no words which properly express our thoughts as we remember Ida. We would like to honor the memory of Ida Slivko as we face the end of our college life. We regret that she could not have been among us, for those who knew her knew a lovely person who was a friend to many here.
