MESSAGE Stern College Yearbook 1968 In a world in which strife and violence seem to have become, one hopes temporarily, accepted and some- times preferred modes of operation, it is most commend- able that the senior class has seen fit to adopt, as its yearbook theme, the concept of Unity . The key to unity is communication, even as the Biblical story of the Tower of Babel relates. And Stern College, dedicated to education on all levels of life is uniquely programmed to provide lines of communication, not only among contemporaries, but between generations. Life and history flow continually and do not exist as fragmented quanta in time. The present is a continuation, not a rejection, of the past. It is our hope that the experience of Stern College has provided you with the knowledge and the warmth to reach out to all people everywhere with the message of Judaism — union of all the kingdom of the one God.

Greetings by Mr. Max Stern to KOCHAVIAH, Stern College for Women Yearbook It is always a special pleasure for me to send greetings to the graduating class at Stern College for Women, In these days when the young people of our country face great new challenges, I want also to express my confidence that the members of the class of I968 will go forward to assume their responsibilities with a keen sense of values and a real dedication to humanity. The ideal of Stern College is to provide its students with intellectual development through the arts and sciences and with the spiritual strength of our Judaic heritage. In the full lives that lie ahead for each of you, in your roles in the home, in the profes- sions, in the community, I am sure that you will continue to grow and to make your contributions which will reflect honor on yourselves and your Alma Mater. I extend to each of you my warmest congratulations and very best wishes.
