r W x 1 NORMAN E. RIOUX, Headmaster HEADMASTER When one takes a few moments to reflect on Sterling SchooI's first year, it immediately becomes apparent that the success of this initial period has been due to the cooperation and hard work of faculty and students alike. A camaraderie of an unusually high order exists at Sterling School, and this mutual feeling should be one which we will all strive to preserve in the years to come. In many ways ours is a unique preparatory school, and no small part of our individuality is due to the spirit of the boys and masters. In the years to come when many graduating classes will have been pictured on annual pages such as these, it will, I am sure, be easiest and most natural for me to remember those members of the class of 1959. They will stand out. To each of you individually, I say return often, study and work hard, and good, good luck. FACULTY DOUGLAS B. FIELD, Dean WALTER F. DONLAN. Dartmouth, A.B. TO THE FUTURE OF STERLING SCHOOL As the first class to graduate from Sterling School, We hope that we have set some standards and precedents which will be carried on by future classes. lt is one of our fondest wishes that this school should grow and prosper, for the future holds great promise for both of us. The school must grow and work as will the graduate in order to maintain its reputation and position. So, we, the Class of 1959, dedicate this yearbook to the future of Ster- ling School, its growth and prosperity. Kane Hall

JOHN YOUNG The members of the class of 1959 have the honor to be the first graduating class at Sterling School. Al- though there are still some unfinished projects at Ster- ling, the School has made phenomenal progress in so short a time. A great amount of the credit for this success should be given to the class of 1959 as a whole. With the plans for the future which have been made this year, it will not be long before many of the loose ends will be tied. Although there have been the usual differences of opinion about many parts of school life, there hasn't been any mountain we couldn,t surpass successfully. Every one of us has learned many new things by being on the ground floor of this new school. With Sterling's determination to learn also, we are assured of continued success. My duties as your president have taught me many things about responsibility, leadership, and cooperation, and I appreciate the help you have given me through- out the year. I wish all of you the best of happiness and success throughout life.
