It is with a mixture of great satisfaction and profound sadness that we conclude the 1979- 80 school year. A need for more and better equipped classrooms and larger library facilities was met in the fall with the opening of the high school addition and woodworking shop building. The fall also brought the loss of Miss Haynes who had given her abilities and time so freely to our community for the past ten years. We are a better and richer people as a result of our association with her. I would say to the graduating seniors that as you stand on the threshold of a new era in your life, you have a rare opportunity to look into the past and observe with appreciation those parents, friends, and teachers who have lovingly and sacrifically guided you to this milestone. You have an equally unique opportunity to review your goals and aspirations to determine the additional preparations and training necessary to fulfill yourself and to meet the needs of society. We, at Sterling High School, wish you well in your endeavors and stand Willing to assist you.
