Every pupil should ask himself from time to time the following questions: Why do I go to school? If remaining in school until gradu- ation were left entirely with me to decide upon would I graduate? Statistics have shown that the amount of income a person receives is governed largely by the amount of formal education he has. Is this the only justifiable reason for staying in school as long as I can? What are some rewards that I must endeavor to attain other than material ones? Am I doing my very best in all of my classes, or ami doing just enough to get by ? Do I respect the rights of others? When I am tempted to think evil and immoral thoughts, do I have the courage and fortitude to immediately dispel them from my mind? Do I perform my tasks well, or must some-one go over the task assigned to me. Earnestly asked and truthfully answered, the foregoing questions should tend to stimulate wit hin each individual student a desire to analyze both objectively and subjectively the areas in which he is strong and also those areas where he apparently needs help from out- side sources. A full knowledge of one ' s self is a prerequisite to successful living, both now and in the future. ■»

To a woman whose sense of humor brightens our days, whose witty sayings cheer us, we pay tribute. For the past ten years, we have viewed her dignified figure strolling gracefully up the halls of S.H.S. She has become ,a part of us and she is looked upon with respect. Interpreted in terms of school ideas, its tugged strength and durability mean loyalty, high standards of conduct and service to the yearbook staff. May the Hawk be a lasting remipdet of the noble qualities our symbol represents and a source of enjoy- ment throughout the years. To our beloved instructors we say, Thanks for your patience with the staff and for your gracious attitude toward making our HAWK a success.
