Q To Evelyn P. Marsh we affectionately dedicate this book. Students in her English classes have long appreciated the richness of experience which she brings to the study of language and literature. Mrs. Marsh is a native of Sterling. Finishing college at Wheaton, she crossed the,Pacific on her first trip to China. In that country she taught the children of American residents. There her own daughters were born. After the death of her husband, she returned to America, to teach at Wallace School. In her early years here at the high school, Mrs. Marsh taught not only English, but also music and art. She was the first presi- dent of the local Y. W. C. A. The 1941 Blue and Gold recognizes and honors a kindly friend of learning, a cultivated and gracious lady.
