U5 liigfz 'z Progress is nowhere more in evidence than in the library, which really begins to look like a library. . . Nine bookcases built by Mr. Whaley's shop classes . . . eight oak tables . . . three dozen new chairs . . . several good pictures . . . a clock-stamp . . . a new oak desk for the libra- rian, Miss Lovrien. Less visible but no less important is the progress in cataloging, the purchase of new books and their preparation for circulation, and the renovation of old books. Among gifts to the library this year is a collection which belonged to Mr. D. L. Miller, presented by Mrs. john DeWind. At the charging desk Verle Yarbrough, Florence Swanson, Quinten Harms, Elizabeth Hurless, Sue Gerdes, Bettijane Long, Lora Mae lVicCaslin and other students have assisted in releasing and receiving books. Our library affords a good reference section, a fine choice of magazines, and a fair selection of hction and non-fiction. . . More advance has been made in the art collection than in any other given groupg it is hoped next year will see additions to travel, fiction and biography. 18
