Work and nerves mingled 'till time The curtain went up on the doctor's first line. But something was definitely wrong that day, For the judge's feelings we failed to sway. Placed second to Hobbs, a hillbilly cast, We felt surely fate had doomed us at last. State meet in Austin we then did go. Just to observe the top notch shows. Feelings of sadness and disappointment too We had 'cause we weren't one of those few.
