DR. Cl-HXRTERS Stephens educational practice owes much to Dr. W. W. Charters, who made 'the original survey of the problems of modern women and, to keep the information up to date, checks and re-checks the results with the Research Department. Leader- ship, responsibility and personality development for the individual girl are the problems in which he is interested. Dr. Charters, who is well known as an organizer of educational curricula, resigned from Ohio State University this winter to devote all of his time to his duties as Director of Research at Stephens. Dlx. W. W. Crnxnrmxs The three men on 'these pages are perhaps not so often seen by students as other members of the faculty, but they are just as much a part of the friendly atmosphere of Stephens. Dr. Charters' keen insight into campus 'problems makes his conferences with student officers, held early in the fall to plan the year's work, especially helpful. Besides being one of the best of advisers and managing to know all about every student, Dean Shofstall is renowned as a before-and-after dinner speaker. Dean J'ohnson's special interest is in providing students with library facilities, and he is often seen making a quiet tour of inspection through the General Library. Page I5

Many girls obtain valuable help in analyzing their personality traits and selecting vocations or professions through the Guidance Clinic. And Stephens graduates are kept in touch with new campus developments and with the lives of other alumnae by the Alumnae Office.
