Next to mvade Palmerton was a trrcky Stroudsburg team In thus fray the Bombers showed slrght srgns of offensne povrer but therr defense was ragged and the Mountarneers went home wrth a 27 to 12 vrctory For therr frrst away game of the season the Blue Bombers journeyed to Catasauqua where they encountered a team vshrch was also havrng trouble gettrng started because of rnexperrence Both teams appeared to be somewhat rmproved rn this battle and the final score of 17 all showed the relatlve strengths of the teams better than anythmg else Bob Romlg Bomber captain cut loose rn thrs game and scored both Blue and White touchdowns oner Slopr U7b1telmllBack In the fourth game of thc season the Bombers looked highly rmprovcd as they outplayed and out fought a Bangor hrgh school te1m but lost a heart breaker 7 to 0 Thrs game played under the lrghts at Bangor saw Coach Young s charges drrve deep mto cnemy territory several trmes only to falter at the goal lrne Then on October 24 powerful Northampton a team whrch had been rollrng up seven erght or mne touch dovx ns against every league team they had played came to Palmerton to supposedly grve the unvrctorrous Bombers a trouncrng By this trme hoxxever those boys who had been so green at the begrnnrng of the season were now experienced ball players and after the flrst few mmutes of the game the Konkrete Krds knew they were rn for a real tussle 'lhey dld finally wm 13 to 7 and the Bombers were strll wrthout a vrctory but they had now tasted glory and were just wartm 1 for the next game In thrs game rm Clark scored the only touchdown a league team had scored on Northampton on a 73 yard jaunt At Emmaus the followmg week the Blue Bomb ers looked very lxttle lrke the team that lost their frrst two games a month before as they trounced the Green and Gold 25 to 0 Romrg scored three trmes rn thrs game and Clark once on a 90 yard run Lehrghton boasting the frnest record rn the hrs tory of their school was the next team to mvade Palmcrton When the final whistle had sounded therr record was consrderably damaged by a 19 0 loss at the hands of Palmerton Romrg once agam scored two touchdowns and ohnny ones broke mto the scormg wrth one The following Saturday provcd fatal for the Bombers as they were whrpped by a classy Wrlson Boro team 26 to 17 The sprrrt that the team had possessed rn the three preceding games seemed to be lacking rn thls game and though they put up a gal lant frght with ones runnrng 95 yards wrth an rn tercepted pass for a touchdown we had to admrt that Wrlson Boro had a strong aggressrve team Touchdown Bound Cold wrnds and frozen ground greeted the Bombers pa e frfly eight . . .Y 7 .
