MIRROR CLASS OF 194 LEEBERT WHITAKER-If you see Lee walking around the country chasing but- terfiies or dropping artificial flies in the streams, don't be alarmed, for besides being in fishing club four years, his hob- bies are hiking, hunting, fishing, making artificial fiies, and a butterfly collection. He plans to work upon graduation. MILTON YOUNG-- Junior , besides tak- ing an active part in the Hi-Y, golf, chess, and checkers clubs, found time to work as a sub-pin-boy and a clerk at M. W. Young and Co. Jewelry Store. His hob- bies are sports, cards, model airplanes, nature study, and drums. He plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania. MARIE ZELL-Although Freckles didn't participate in many extra-curricular ac- tivities before her senior year, she made up for lost time by being a consciencious member of both the senior class play ticket committee and the Christmas wreath committee. Marie has the inter- esting hobby of table decorations. Her future plans spell beautician. Bob Handwerk will still be thataway about girls. Edward Serfass will still be playing second base. George Fedor will still be a lady-killer. George Steigerwalt will still be shorty . Beatrice Leh will still be a glamor girl. Bill Baker will still be playing basketball. June Blose will still get A's in German. Helen Krawchuk will still wear sweaters. Dorothy Ashman will still have snakes. Wesley Bowman will still drive a coal truck. Marshall Beers and Kenneth Borger will still be traveling. Frank Lendvay will still be a butcher boy. The seniors will still Hunk tests. Dorris Kemmerer will still be singing. Louise Owens will still be hitting the high notes. Ruth Klotz will still be debating. George Gilbert will still be asleep. Floyd Thaller will still be blowing up things. Joe Psarsky will still have curly hair. John Powers will still be bashful with girls. Milan Brestovansky will still make marvelous speeches. Last year she was a member of the Hallo- we'en Social ticket committee and co- chairman of the hot dog and soda com- mittee. Her plans are to study diatetics. ERNEST SZAKACS-After winding up his career at Palmerton high school Fut will either be a N. J. Z. Co. employee or enter the armed forces. Ernest, a mem- ber of the bowling club in '41 and '42, was treasurer of the club in '42, He was also chairman of the senior class invita- tion committee and program chairman his senior year. FLOYD THALLER-As might be expected, chemical engineering at college is the ambition of Flitter . Beside studying chemistry at Palmerton, Floyd also play- ed football in his junior and senior years. Baseball in '41, '42, basketball in '42, and golf in '39 and '40 were fortunate, in- deed, to have as valuable a man as t'Tick participating in them. JOHN TURKO- Turkeyl', who served on the refreshment committee in the Hallo- we'en Social, did odd jobs outside school. Athletically minded, he has as hobbies hunting, swimming, skating, bowling, and cards. He plans to become either a weld- er or a t'midshipmite in the navy. HELEN VIDO-Working on the Civilian Defense Committee has busied Honey'l this year, as did the senior Christmas wreath committee. In her junior year Honey helped in the Hal1owe'en So- cial cider garden committee. Outside school, she does work for the N. Y. A., she plans to take up fashion designing or buying. GRACE WALK- Shorty worked on the wreath committee in her senior year, and belonged to Red Cross and typing clubs in her junior and senior years. Bicycle riding, sewing, dancing, collecting silver paper and pictures for her album are some of her hobbies. After graduation she plans either to work or to train for a nurse.

IRROR CLASS OF' 1942 Gridiron Men Who Played Last Game for Palmerton Football Beginning the season with one of the lightest ams in the Lehigh Valley League and a new the Blue Bomber football team 'ad coach, vertheless broke even and rolled up 52 first wns to its opponent's 35. Under the guidance of head coach John C. Jung and assistant coaches Bill Lutz and hn Messersmith, Palmer- r1 won three games, beat- g Whitehall, Northamp- r1, and Slatingtong lost ree to Catasauqua, Ban- r, and Emmaus, and tied e with Stroudsburg. Since its first game with lmmit Hill was cancelled cause of the infantile ralysis scare, Palmerton ened its season by deci- 'ely defeating Whitehall -0 in a home game. The ue-and-White gained 10 downs to its oppon- 0. In their next game the ue Bombers played an enly contested game with roudsburg which ended a 6-6 tie, with the Bomb- s netting 10 first downs to eir opponent's 8. Although making 7 first wns and 114 yards in rimmage to Catty's 0 and respectively, the Blue- d-White eleven lost their me to Catasauqua, 7-6. st t's For the first time since football was re-in- stated at Palmerton, the Blue Bombers beat the Koncrete Kids 6-0, getting 4 first downs to Northampton's 3, in a close game showing no long runs. In its only non-league game of the season, Palmerton was crushed by Bangor, 27-6, roll- ing up 6 first downs to the opponent's 10. After being trounced in their next game with Em- maus, 24-6, the Blue Bornb- ers recovered in time to conquer their rival Slating- ton, 19-14, in the last game of the season. During the game, in which every grad- uating player was active, Palmerton chalked up 11 first downs to the Slate Lads' 4. Those who played their last time for Palmerton in the Slatington game are: Carson Bartholomew, John Derkacz, George F e d o r, Carlin Haydt, Donald Kres- ge, Bill Lipics, Manuel Lo- pez, Donald Peirce and Floyd Thaller. At the season's close, Donald Peirce, not shown above, was elected the team's captain, and John Derkacz, shown in lower picture, its most valuable twenty-three
