MRROR MARGUERITE SUSANIN-'KPeggy , a member of the Mirror staff, pageant and senior class play committees and Christmas wreath committee, also pre- sided over the Tri-Hi-Y this year. Last year she was a member of the Hallo- we'en Social ticket committee and co- chairman of the hot dog and soda com- mittee. Her plans are to study diatetics. ERNEST SZAKACS-After winding up his career at Palmerton high school Fut will either be a N. J. Z. Co. employee or enter the armed forces. Ernest, a mem- ber of the bowling club in '41 and '42, was treasurer of the club in '42, He was also chairman of the senior class invita- tion committee and program chairman his senior year. FLOYD THALLER-As might be expected, chemical engineering at college is the ambition of Flitter . Beside studying chemistry at Palmerton, Floyd also play- ed football in his junior and senior years. Baseball in '41, '42, basketball in '42, and golf in '39 and '40 were fortunate, in- deed, to have as valuable a man as t'Tick participating in them. JOHN TURKO- Turkeyl', who served on the refreshment committee in the Hallo- we'en Social, did odd jobs outside school. Athletically minded, he has as hobbies hunting, swimming, skating, bowling, and cards. He plans to become either a weld- er or a t'midshipmite in the navy. HELEN VIDO-Working on the Civilian Defense Committee has busied Honey'l this year, as did the senior Christmas wreath committee. In her junior year Honey helped in the Hal1owe'en So- cial cider garden committee. Outside school, she does work for the N. Y. A., she plans to take up fashion designing or buying. GRACE WALK- Shorty worked on the wreath committee in her senior year, and belonged to Red Cross and typing clubs in her junior and senior years. Bicycle riding, sewing, dancing, collecting silver paper and pictures for her album are some of her hobbies. After graduation she plans either to work or to train for a nurse.

JEAN STEINMETZ- Smiley , a Tri-Hi-Y girl, served as a loyal member of the gift, basketball, football, and Christmas wreath committees during her senior year. Outside school, 'gJean was em- ployed at the Blue Bomber, while she slung the hash at home in her extra moments. She plans to be a dental hy- gienist. LOIS STEMLER-A member of the senior class play, t'Shorty belonged to Tri-Hi- Y this year, and debated in '40 and '41. She participated in the operetta her jun- ior and sophomore years. For three years a member of the glee club, this year Lois chose typing club. Her plans are to go to college. JAMES STRIBANY - Jimmy played baseball his senior year and was in the gym exhibition the last two years. His peculiar hobby is to raise and train pigeons for racing purposes and long dis- tance flying. Also interested in photo- graphy, he plans to become a machinist mate. KATHLEEN STROHL- Cats belonged to gym club her freshman and sophomore years, and to embroidery and glee clubs her junior and senior years. Writing poems and short stories and reading are her hobbies, while outside school she does housework and N. Y. A. work. Although she wants to be a detective, Kathleen's plans are indefinite. tw CLASS OF 1942 WILLIAM SNYDER- Bill , an orchestra member for six years, attended the East- ern District Band Convention in '41 and '42. A Hi-Y member for two years, t'Bil1 was kept busy by the operetta and tennis in '41 and the senior class play this year. He is still undecided about his plans after graduation. MARY SOESKA- SutCh , Whose hobbies consist of reading and dancing, aided the Hallowe'en Social by serving on the cider committee. Mary chose a variety of clubs during her high school career, having been a member of the glee, dramatic, and typing clubs. She plans to enter nursing. JOHN SOLKSHINITZ - 'tJohnnie , co- manager of track, starting as a reporter his sophomore year worked his way up to advertising co-manager of the Mirror this year when he also served on the ticket committee of the senior class play. Outside school he works at the Lehighton airport and Caddies. He plans to be an airplane engine mechanic. GEORGE STEIGERWALT-Liking variety, cnty Shorty , the midget of our class, be- longed to the checker, airplane, and in- dustrial arts clubs. He divides his time among farm work, Boy Scouts, and his hobbies of solving puzzles, airplanes, and checkers. His plans are undecided at present.

MIRROR CLASS OF 194 LEEBERT WHITAKER-If you see Lee walking around the country chasing but- terfiies or dropping artificial flies in the streams, don't be alarmed, for besides being in fishing club four years, his hob- bies are hiking, hunting, fishing, making artificial fiies, and a butterfly collection. He plans to work upon graduation. MILTON YOUNG-- Junior , besides tak- ing an active part in the Hi-Y, golf, chess, and checkers clubs, found time to work as a sub-pin-boy and a clerk at M. W. Young and Co. Jewelry Store. His hob- bies are sports, cards, model airplanes, nature study, and drums. He plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania. MARIE ZELL-Although Freckles didn't participate in many extra-curricular ac- tivities before her senior year, she made up for lost time by being a consciencious member of both the senior class play ticket committee and the Christmas wreath committee. Marie has the inter- esting hobby of table decorations. Her future plans spell beautician. The First Reunion of the Class of 1942 Twenty-Hve years from today, June 12, 1942, at our silver reunion, we may be sure that the following items will all be true: The teachers will still tell the same old jokes. Glenn Handwerk will still be getting into trouble. Irma Brodi will still be a stooge. Delores Cunningham will still cackle. Russel Chaplinsky will still be bragging about the vultures. Professor John Young will be an admiral. Jane Montz will still be a pet',. Lois Anthony will still turn boys' heads. Donald Peirce will still be a blonde. Glenn Kresge still won't catch on to a joke. Bob Handwerk will still be thataway about girls. Edward Serfass will still be playing second base. George Fedor will still be a lady-killer. George Steigerwalt will still be shorty . Beatrice Leh will still be a glamor girl. Bill Baker will still be playing basketball. June Blose will still get A's in German. Helen Krawchuk will still wear sweaters. Dorothy Ashman will still have snakes. Wesley Bowman will still drive a coal truck. Marshall Beers and Kenneth Borger will still be traveling. Frank Lendvay will still be a butcher boy. The seniors will still Hunk tests. Dorris Kemmerer will still be singing. Louise Owens will still be hitting the high notes. Ruth Klotz will still be debating. George Gilbert will still be asleep. Floyd Thaller will still be blowing up things. Joe Psarsky will still have curly hair. John Powers will still be bashful with girls. Milan Brestovansky will still make marvelous speeches. Bill Lipics will still be playing hookey. Carson Batholomew will still be talking at some class meeting. Tony Jeringo will still be shoveling coal. Clyde Eckert will still come from the country.
