JOHN DERKACZ-Penn State is the objec- MIRROR ELSIE C O S T E N B A D E R- Reds or Blondie , take your choice, spends her spare time reading, knitting, or hiking, while in school she was a member of the needlework and dramatic clubs. In her junior year she served on the candy, ticket, and hot dog committees for the Social. Her plans are uncertain. CHARLES CHRISTMAN-Charles is one of the quieter members of the senior classg however his silence belies his am- bition. He has been in the industrial arts club for the past two years. Outside of school he became a tiller of the soil as he worked about a farm. Following graduation he plans to seek employment. DELORES CUNNINGHAM - T i n y,,' a member of Tri-Hi-Y, worked on the football and basketball refreshment committees. During her four years in high school Bugsy was in marionette, dramatic, sewing, and home economic clubs, and last year she was on the Hal- lowe'en Social refreshment committee. Being the baseball manager in '41 and helping on several committees for the Hallowe'en Social comprised some of 'tDerk's other duties. eight CLASS OF 194- HARRY BUHAY- Haddy , a camping and fishing enthusiast, was a member of the senior Hnance committee and the wreath committee as well as a miler in track his senior year. During his junior year he participated in track and the dance committee of the Hallowe'en Social. His plans are trade school or the U. S. Navy. HENRY BURBES-Henry upon graduation plans to find employment or enlist in the United States Army. Hank , who came to Palmerton last year from Berlinsville, was a member of the Hi-Y four years. Henry has a variety of hobbies, but sports and mechanical work hold his chief in- terest. RUSSEL CHAPLINSKY- RUSS has been chairman of the football and basketball refreshment committees, a member of senior prom refreshment committee, and a Mirror reporter. Active in leather- craft and physics clubs, Russ still found time for his hobby of aviation. His plans are uncertain. EVELYN COPE- Copey served as a member of the senior class play ticket committee and the Ha1lowe'en Social wrap committee. During her junior and senior year she belonged to the needle- work club. RROR MARSHALL BEERS- Hobo has had a busy senior year, being a Hag-bearer, a book collector, and a wreath distributor, while outside school, he was vice-presi- dent of his Young Peoples and worked in Mack Motors Inc. He also participated in the operetta four successive years, and baseball one year. He plans to work as a trucker. FLORENCE BEHLER- Flossy, perhaps the tiniest girl in the senior class, has been quite a saleslady, selling both senior class play tickets and Christmas wreaths. Florence, a varsity member of the girls' basketball team, plans to work in a grocery store and also take a course in dental nursing. JUNE BLOSE-Listening to short wave radio broadcasts fascinates Blosie, a member of the embroidery club for three years. In her freshman and senior years she was on homeroom program commit- tees, and was a member of the wrap and novelty committees for the Hallowe'en Social last year. June's plans are nursing. FRANKLIN BORGER- Chick , the co- advertising manager of the Mirr0r and CO-Illaflagel' of track, was a member of the Mirror staff in '40 and '4l. Home- room secretary in '40, homeroom presi- dent in '41, and chairman of two Hal- lowe'en Social committees were some of Chicks other offices. Franklin, a mem- ber of the senior finance committee, is still undecided about his future. ii CLASS OF 1942. A all A A ..gmr's KENNETH BORGER- Perky , sometimes known as Berky , has the unusual hob- bies of playing pinochle and traveling about the country. Outside school he is a regular attendent of church and Sunday school. His plans are either to get a job or to study to be a machinist. DALE BOWMAN-Musical Nutty has participated four years in the operetta, the Eastern-State Chorus Festival the last two years, the All-State Chorus Festival this year, and the orchestra for three years. Outside school he worked on a milk truck. He plans to join the United States Army Air Corps or the Maritime Service. WESLEY BOWMAN- Wes did not have much spare time this year for he worked as a coal trucker outside school. His favorite athletics are baseball and swim- ming, while driving either a car or truck thrills him. Upon graduation Wesley plans to work for a trucking concern in Patterson. IRMA BRODI- Irmie , girls' basketball manager and a Tri-Hi-Y girl, was a member of the basketball and football refreshment committees, and the Christ- mas wreath committee. In the good old summer time Irma is kept busy with her hobbies, swimming and hiking. She plans to enter nurse's training at Temple Uni- versity Hospital. S?N ill

'IIRROR CLEO DEWALT- Clitts,' was a member of the 1941-42 Girls' Varsity Basketball team. This Tri-Hi-Y lassie also sold Christmas wreaths for the senior class. Cleo, who is kept occuppied by her hob- bies, knitting and photography, in her junior year, helped with the Hallowe'en Social. She plans to attend Penn Hall. EDWARD DONCHEZ- Woofal'l, a three letter man his junior year, participating in track, basketball, and football, retired from sports his senior year via the age limit. Chairman of the gift committee and assistant scout master, he was also in gym and rifle clubs. It's the United States Coast Guard for Woofal. PAULINE DORSHIMER-Pauline typed for defense this year, and helped with the Hallowe'en Social in her junior year. For three years she was a member of the Crocheting club, this year belonging to the nature study group. In her spare time she likes to roller-skate. Her plans are uncertain. MARTHA DUYKA- Marty Worked on the wreath committee and in her junior year served on the Hallowe'en Social cider committee. She belonged to sewing club two years and to the hobby club. Reading and collecting movie stars' pic- tures are some of her hobbies. Unless she finds work, Martha will attend Allen- town Business College. Illllf CLAY OF 1942 l F CLYDE ECKHART- Rocky'i, who was a member of the senior class Christmas wreath committee, has the unique hobby cf acquiring complete knowledge of the Spanish guitar. He plans to get a job and earn enough money to attend college, although he has not decided on the place as yet. RALPH ENGLE-Not much is known con- cerning Ralph, as he decided to seek his fortune before school ended and left the senior class in the middle of this school year. KATHERINE FABIAN-During the past year Kay has typed for the Civilian Defense Committee and been on the senior Christmas wreath committee. In her junior year Katherine sold tickets for the Halloweien Social, while this year she was a member of the home economics club. Kay plans to enter Allentown Business College. LOIS FATZINGER-Lois, a member of Tri-Hi-Y for two years, and the operetta for three, has ushered at most of our high school's activities. This year she was a typist for the Mirror, while last year she served as the assistant business man- ager of the paper. Her plans spell Beth- lehem Business College.
