MISS TEXAS 1965 Mary Lou Butler, of Irving, as Miss Nacogdoches, walked off with the 1965 Miss Texas title in Fort Worth last sum- mer. A sophomore at Stephen F. Austin, the 18-year-old beauty swooned the judges with a flawless presentation of Summertime on the final night of competition. The first S.F.A. coed to win the state title, Miss Butler, at five feet eight, was also the tallest Miss Texas. Mary Lou, and her sisters, also S.F.A. coeds, Alice Ruth and Nolanda Sue, have been singing professionally for years as The Butler Sisters. 7 jfc Miss Texas heads the famous Tyler Rose Festival parade.
