PRESIDENT OF THE COLLEGE Stand aside for S.F.A. With this, another, and most recent, year of College life passed in review. It has been a year of contrasts in many ways. The largest enrollment of students in history has come to the college among the pines to gain the benefits of an advanced education. They have been met by one of the finest faculties ever assembled on a Texas campus. Yet over a? all have hung the ominous clouds of international discord. Fortunately, most of our group has realized that never before has there been a greater nesd for the trained, educated individual citizen. So despite the distant rumbles of conflict, and the threats of European and Asian war lords, we have had much excellent learning, and full, wholesome living. For each of you, bo h graduates and undergraduates, the faculty and administration of Stephen F. Austin State College is wishing the very best, in your professional activities, and in your personal living. We hope that each will remember that temporary exigencies do not alter basic values and standards. Thorough study, hard work, and conformity in both thought and action to the eternal ver- ities upon which all civilization is dependent are a; all times the requisites of a successful life. So this is our wish for each of you.
