Wisely, in May, 1945, Stephen F. Austin lost one of its most honored and best loved members. He was Auditor of the College and head ot the Department of Commerce. Dr. Eugene A. Heiman, who served as head of the Depart- ment of Commerce after Mr. Wisely, was killed in an auto- mobile accident in October, 1945. The influence of the character and guidance of these two men will long be felt in the College. JOHN HAROLD WISELY
