DEAN OF THE FACULTY . Mr. Thomas E. Ferguson, Dean of the Faculty, has been an inspiration to both students and teachers of the Stephen F. Austin Teachers College. He is the kind and gracious advisor of all who wish to attain scholastic success.

In Memoriam PAULINE THE music of a laughing stream Was in her voice, To see her was to see a dream Of God ' s own choice. He envied us because we had Too rare a gem. Nor could He be content until He ' d taken her to Him And held her closely to His breast — Until she found everlasting Pauline Parnell Orah Pauline Parnell was born May 2. 1921. She was killed by an automobile as she was on her way home from school at noon, Decem- ber 1 5, 1927. Although Pauline had been in school only three months, she had made an outstanding record and was loved by all. Only the day before her death, she was selected by the first grade as favorite girl. During Book Week she took a prominent part in the prize-winning play. The Cum Concilio Club honored her by naming its Loan Fund The Pauline Parnell Memorial. The untimely death of this lovely and popular child has cast a shadow over the college and the entire town. Page
