FAITH RHINE Most Outstanding Faith Rhine, a senior, is the first place winner in the local, district, and state level of the PTA Cultural Arts Contest for her music composition. Her composition will advance to national competition in Illinois. She also was the 2nd place winner in the Tribute to a Talent pageant sponsored by the City Council of Federated Women's Club. She received a $75 scholarship-prize for playing a classic flute solo. They started off right at camp by winning the highest award earned, the Spirit Stickt During the football season the cheerleaders helped Cheer the team on to the playoffs. The cheerleaders also had pep rallies for basketball and baseball to help boost spirits for these sports. The Eagles earned a position as the 19-AAA district runners-up, by having a district record of 2-0-3. The Eagles first district opponent was Orangefield, whom the Eagles tied 12-12. Next was Kountze with a score of 7-7, Kirbyville 15-12, Warren 12-15, and Buna 27-27. In Bi-District competition the Eagles were defeated by Anahuac 54-15. The Eagles ended the season on a good note by placing ten people an the All-District Honor Roll. On first team of- fenseJimmy Oats and Brian McZeal were given the honors.
