' 4 Dedication All around the area, communities support their local schools, Port Acres is one of those comr munities, Never has the community of Port Acres' support been greater, to make this year snmd out, and always be remembede The bonfire was just one example of support that the mmmunitynt has given Stephen F. Austin When all the ha rd Work that the Seniors put in on the bonfirew up in smoke, Port ALT came to the rescue. Parents students ex Hstudents and other tommunity members helped the 197; bonfire to be one that will not soon be forgotten. The bonfire was not the only thing the Port Acres community supported. They showed their spirit and support every bit for the 1979 BirDiStriCt Champion Football team. Through thick and thin Port Arms was there, hawking Stephen F. Austin all the way! Remym Spam nghnng Lb: barium , , LA Pep Rallies Pep rallies play a major pat: in football. They boost the spirit of the players and school. The Cheerleaders gave it their best to raise the spirit of the crowd. When the spirit was down, they never gave up! The Austinaites had great routines to keep the crowd aston- ishedt They had a great year! The Band had a great season. They showed their best all year long. The pep tallies started out slow, but ended up great! They fit in perfectly with the BieDiSHiCI Champion Football team! Oyomsaoming 1 9 79 Homecoming activities at Stephen F, Austin were on Monday, October 1 and continued through Saturday, October 6. Activities included dress-up days. Monday was Overall Victory Day, Tuesday w 505 day, Wednesday w Western day, Thursday w Hawais ian day, and Friday - the traditional Blue-n-White day. The coronation of the King, Mr. and Ms. Spirit, and Mr. and Ms. Goodsportsmanship was held Monday night at 7:00. The suspense of knowing who the Queen was kept everyone guessing the entire Homecoming week. The bonfire was supposed to have been held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday Night, but due to a minor accident it was delayed a couple of hours w which made it even better. Olcmcmbcr the 0'doublc bonfiICPa Pep Rallies were held every morning at 7:30 in front of the school. The cheerleaders dressed according re the theme of the day and held that kind of pep rally. Then: was a cat decoration contest Saturday at 5 :45 before the parade to the game at 6:00. The Queen was finally crowned during Halftime Festivities. Senior Phyllis Cormier was chosen as Homecoming Queen. Homev coming Princesses were Kristine Bell, senior; lmi LcBlanc, junior; Rhonda Pack, junior; Wendy Alphin, sophomore; and Tracy Moles, sophomore. fwiym; Cozmc'az Warned Queen Ebuu'ng dag, Dims. 7980 Bonfiza Was a Success I980 Bon-Firc Rages for VICTORY. Chccrlcukrs look plcascd with the Bon-Fim. Various organizations from S.F.A. repre- sented the school in the Cavoilcade parade. Among these groups were the Varsity Cheer- leaders, jr. Varsity Cheerleaders, Jr. High Cheerleaders, Senior High Band, Jr. High Band, and Austinaires. The Austinaircs and both bands marched and performed. The Cheerleaders rods and performed on automobiles. All groups performed and represented Ste- phen F.
