As cheerleaders take a rest in be- tween yells, Bill Cardwell, Mr. Spirit, addresses the crowd. Members of the Booster Club set up a concession stand to help the stu- dents as they gather wood to rebuild the pile which accidentally started before time. HOMECOMING PEP RALLY The air was filled with enthusiasm and ex- citement as the student body gathered in the gym on Friday afternoon to back the team. The football team stands and sings the School Song. Mn Creel congratulates Pete O'Donald and Kelly Smith following the announcement that they had been elected ML and Miss Good Sportsmanship The twirlers enlighten the pep rally with their routine version of The Sniper. HOMECOMING NIGHT Ruth Richard, Homecoming Queen 1962, is crowned by Sandra Broussard, 1961 Queen, following the announcement of her selection Elzie Chambers is the queen's escorth Kelly Smith and Pete O'Donald, SFA's Mr. and Miss Good Sportsmanship, greet West Orange's Mr. and Miss Good Sportsmanship in the middle of the field during pre-game ceremonies. Carolyn Burris, Football Sweetheart, is pre- sented with a bouquet of white mums by Eagle Co-captains, Kenneth Carlin and Gordon Perry. Booster Club Member, Mr. O'Donald, pre- sents Sally Miller with a corsage as Bill Cardwell looks on Sally and Bill reigned as Mr. and Miss Spirit during Homecoming activitiest The band practiced late and hard after school, and the results of their hard practice could be seen in their wonderful marching during pre- game ceremonies. Cheerleaders, Diana Broussard, Dixie Russell. Lelia Guidry, Sally Miller, Beverly Broussard and mas- cot Omell Poche leads the cheering section in yells. FOOTBALL BANQUET Frenchy Dominque served as Master of Ceremonies for the banquet which was held at Schooners Restaurant. Guest speaker for the ban- quet was Coach Leonard Brown of Texas A 8: M. Everyone seemed to have had a good time. Coach Fredrick highlighted the banquet with the announcement of the Most Co- operative Players Award. Kenneth Carlin, back, and Ben Arre- dondo, lineman, receive the Most Co- operative Players trophy from Coach Fredrick. Recognition was given by Coach Castete to the boys who received All-District and Althtate honors. Football lettermen stand as they are recog- nized. Cheerleaders, Diana Broussard, Lelia Guidry, Ruth Richard, Beverly Broussard, Sally Miller and Dixie Russell are recognized for their out- standing jobs. Coach Fredrick and Coach Castete try on their new sports jackets which were given them by the football team.
