Arnaud Parliamentarian Bessie Holman Carolyn Drummond Secretary Representative-at-Large Our Student Body Congress, sponsored by Mr. R. B. Kluge, is patterned after the national government. The House of Representatives is composed of representatives from Jr. High and Senate is composed of senators from Sr. High. Representatives and Senators are elected from each Homeroom State. There is one representative for every five students in each State from the 7th thtough 12th grades. The two parties, Blue and Gray tour school colorsi, hold conventions similar to the con. ventions held by the parties in our national government. They are held separately with each party selecting candidates after hearing nominating and seconding speeches. Students pay a poll tax and vote by secret ballot for electors as in the national government. The conventions are very lively and colorful as each State has a banner and every delegate wears a badge. Each year S.E.C. sponsors the annual, the All-SehooI-Picnic, and the AIl-SchooI-Banquet. The students are very proud of this organization as it is one of the oldest of its kind in the State.
