THROUGH THIS KEYHOLE ARE SEEN THE KEYS TO UNLOCK ALL DOORS. Stephen F. Austin High School Bryan, Texas 1960 BRONCO FOREWORD We, the I960 BRONCO staff, hope that this annual will become one of your most prized possessions and that you may look back over the faded snapshots and remember the good old days at S.F.A. In later years, while turning these pages, if you should recall the many smiles, sorrows, and dreams of '60 we shall be content, knowing that we have done the thing we were called upon to do. We have tried to present a key to each division and activity of high school work and fun. Knowing that the key to success is enthusiasm, we have all whole-heartedly joined in to make this BRONCO one of the best ever. We feel that your satis- faction with this volume is our compensation, and with this thought I proudly give you the key to the 1959-1960 BRONCO. Joyce Cargill, Editor 4 DEDICATION DOC” WAYNE RIDEOUT Proudly this annual is dedicated to one who has grasped many hands in true friendship, has been faithful in service to S.F.A., and who, because of his interest and devotion, has received a place in each student's heart. To WAYNE RIDEOUT, we affection- ately dedicate the I960 BRONCO. 6 AS SCHOOL BEGINS EACH YEAR, MANY ACTIVITIES AWAIT THE STUDENTS!! FIFTH: Pam Stidham, Marilyn Krueger. ’59-’60 OUTSTANDING MEMBER Bill Dansby with Director Austin Choir activities this year, in addition to the regular performances for churches, civic groups, and Baccalaureate, included two trips—one to Brenham to sing and one to Galveston for pleasure. This year's Seniors perhaps set a precedent as they redesigned the letter worn on choir sweaters. These sweaters, were in turn paid for by the year's biggest job and accomplish- ment—a two night run of an operetta— Robin Hood. After this year's success, the operetta will probably become an annual affair. Football games and pep rallies were the first ac- tivities in which the band gave its musical support. In October the annual Birthday Calendar drive was held and everyone helped to make it a big success. At State Fair time the band attended, and also marched in the Bryan Christmas parade. Also in Dec. the Band Banquet was held and Beverly Scasta was named winner of the KORA AWARD.
