Austin Auditorium on March 8 at activity period. The scene is the garden of a girls’ hotel. The girls decide to leave be- cause the place is dull. To liven things up. Jonquil Jones decides to run against Mayor Green, not dream- ing that she will win. The mayor, knowing that Jonquil has a good chance to win, tries to divert the girls’ attention by staging a beauty contest. While the girls are out electioneering for Jonquil, Sylvia Sparkum comes to help the girls and finds no one there except Milly Maynard, whom she encourages to enter the beauty contest.
