British and Foreign Bible Society. CHILDREN ' S CLASSES People are beginning to realize that the way to stop juvenile delinquency, is to start instructing small children, the fu¬ ture generation. Unfortunately, however, most of them do not realize that their one and only hope is the blessed gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Steinbach, we are very fortunate in having a number of people who are vital¬ ly interested in Children’s Classes. We rest assured that even though immediate results may not be forthcoming, the seeds, which we sow in humbleness and subjection to God, will eventually blossom and bear fruit. With the exception of the one in the Emmanuel Mission church, the classes are held in different homes offered for this work. The attendance has usually been quite fair; some enthusiastic young¬ sters attend first one class at one place and then another in a different home. Since the main objective in these clas¬ ses is to make clear the need for person¬ al salvation, and how this need may be filled by the acceptance of the Lord Je¬ sus, the lesson is taught with this in mind. Though the teaching method may vary with the different teachers, all use flan¬ nel graph pictures to illustrate the les¬ son. A child will remember more of what it sees than of what it hears. Therefore this method is very satisfactory, besides being a novelty for most of the children. Teaching a class of little children is more important than some people think. Somehow standing before a group of ea¬ ger, expectant faces, you tremble lest what Continued on page 38 Men ' s Prayer Meeting “Be careful for nothing; but in every¬ thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Phil. 4:6. On Fridays, after 4 o’clock the men gather for their weekly prayer meeting. Here one of the students reads a portion of Scripture, comments on it, and then asks for prayer requests. It is our aim in these meetings to pray for mission¬ aries and other Christian workers who are active in the Lord’s work and would like us to pray for them and their needs. The Devil is busy ushering men and wo¬ men into an eternal Hell; how much more should we who have the precious Gospel pray for those who are labouring in Satan’s domain and seeking to bring the gospel of salvation to lost souls! “If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.” John 14:14; Christian, do you believe this? Harvey Barkman. The Power Line to Heaven The greatest powerline I know Is one that never fails, E’en though the very fiercest storm Against the line prevails. Though Satan tries his very best To get the wires down, God’s righteousness still calmly meets The Devil’s baffled frown. The only thing that we must do To keep connections good Is praying often to the Lord, And living as we should. Then can we rest with peaceful mind Without a doubt or fear, That God’s own powerline to us Will ever fail us here. Lilly Rosche.
