10 STEINBACH BIBLE ACADEMY YEAR BOOK David Dueck Let us lay aside every weight, and sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; Heb. 12:1-2. Third Year Class Report As we pause to look back over the past tleeting months of school a panorama of precious memories flash into the mind ' s eye. Allow us to share with you a few of the many blessings that have been ours. Theology — a systematic study of Christian doctrine as contained in the Scriptures — has been one of our most important subjects. Numerous memor¬ able moments have been spent in our study of Eschatology — the doctrine of last things. God’s plan for the future as revealed in His infallible Word, has more distinctly been photographed in our minds and hearts. The Second Coming of our Lord and the tremendous solemnity of the be¬ liever appearing before the Judgment Seat of Christ, (II Cor. 5:10) have grip¬ ped our hearts. Our intentions of living a deeper purer, holier life have also been sharpened. In the light of I Cor. 11:31- 3 2, how necessary it is to unmercifully deal with sin. Whatever we as Christians judge here in our own lives will not be judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Anything left unjudged, however, will be judged. There it will be tried by fire. (I Cor. 3:13-15.) What an awful reckon¬ ing for the careless or unconsecrated Christ ian that will be! Our meditation on the Second Coming of Christ has impressed me with the sin of the Church as a whole, myself included, of not looking for His speedy return. Definitely we are exhorted to look for the Lord’s coming. (Titus 2:13). If the majority of Christians were expectantly looking for their Saviour to come any day, any hour, any minute, how much more intensive would be our efforts in the salvation of Satan-blinded, Christ- rejecting. hell-bound sinners. Another captivating subject is Mis¬ sions. Studying the biographies of mis¬ sionaries and certain specific fields we Continued on page 3 8 Menno Kroeker If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be asham¬ ed. Rom. 10:9,11.

STEINBACH BIBLE ACADEMY YEAR BOOK 11 1 CLASS MOTTO | i - | | For to me to live is Christ Farewell Charge to the Graduates Graduates, Co-workers in Christ: Congratulations! We thank God for you and your testi¬ mony. You have reached an important mile¬ stone in your lives. You have completed one chapter of your lives and now you begin a new one. We shall not go back with you over the chapter you have written. With that chapter do what the Apostle Paul did. “. . . Forgetting those things which are behind ...” Two things Paul did with the complet¬ ed chapter of his life. He made sure thai everything that needed forgiveness in it was forgiven. He left its results and praise with God. And thus Paul made his com¬ pleted chapter of life a closed chapter. As you are now beginning a new chap¬ ter do again what Paul did. It is the most valid procedure for the child of God. “. ... And reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Paul began the new chapter of his life with a purpose and a pressing forward. Christ was his purpose and his very life. Christ was his goal. Write, then, the new chapter of your lives in Christ, for Christ, about Christ. Do it clearly so that they that “run may understand.” Fill it with DEEDS, but use words too. Write it in the love of Christ and with love to your fellow saints. Make it a growing, intimate experience with your Savioui. Punctuate it with numer¬ ous pointings to Christ of hell-bound sin¬ ners. Let it portray the life beautiful; liv¬ ed in the power of the Holy Spirit. Write it with hate for sin and evil, but love, overwhelming love, for the sinner. Write it with rejoicing and in the light of the judgment seat of Christ; recognizing it as your last. And then when it is complet¬ ed expect, by the grace of God, to hear the home call of your crucified and risen Saviour. Yours in Christ, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Penner. Menno lv rocker Benny Eidse Now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 1 Cor. 13:12. David Dueck
