The Board of Directors held thirteen meetings during the year to direct the business of the Academy. This business has been that regarding its financial means, the improvement of the buildings, the improving of the educational possi¬ bilities for the students, informing all Christians in the community of the Aca¬ demy’s needs, its work, and the work done by the students who have already gone to their field of service. They are the crown of the Academy. We are well aware that the devil is doing his utmost to use Christians and others to speak slanderingly about any Christian activity in order to discourage the young people from taking up the work to which the Lord has called them. Sometimes we also notice that we are not concerned to uphold our doctrinal pi in- ciples. I am confident that the more you will study the part our people played in the world in the last century, the more you will appreciate these principles. For example look to the educational system of America which is the best in the world. The six main essays on pedagogy were written in 1750, by Christopher Dock, a Mennonite school teacher. (He died on his knees while praying.) Dear people, let not what our fore¬ fathers have done fill our hearts with vain pride, but let us urge our young people to make use of the opportunities offered to prepare for the service of the Lord. 10 STEINBACH BIBLE ACADEMY YEAR BOOK David Dueck Let us lay aside every weight, and sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; Heb. 12:1-2. Third Year Class Report As we pause to look back over the past tleeting months of school a panorama of precious memories flash into the mind ' s eye. Allow us to share with you a few of the many blessings that have been ours. Theology — a systematic study of Christian doctrine as contained in the Scriptures — has been one of our most important subjects. Numerous memor¬ able moments have been spent in our study of Eschatology — the doctrine of last things. God’s plan for the future as revealed in His infallible Word, has more distinctly been photographed in our minds and hearts. The Second Coming of our Lord and the tremendous solemnity of the be¬ liever appearing before the Judgment Seat of Christ, (II Cor. 5:10) have grip¬ ped our hearts. Our intentions of living a deeper purer, holier life have also been sharpened. In the light of I Cor. 11:31- 3 2, how necessary it is to unmercifully deal with sin. Whatever we as Christians judge here in our own lives will not be judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Anything left unjudged, however, will be judged. There it will be tried by fire. (I Cor. 3:13-15.) What an awful reckon¬ ing for the careless or unconsecrated Christ ian that will be! Our meditation on the Second Coming of Christ has impressed me with the sin of the Church as a whole, myself included, of not looking for His speedy return. Definitely we are exhorted to look for the Lord’s coming. (Titus 2:13). If the majority of Christians were expectantly looking for their Saviour to come any day, any hour, any minute, how much more intensive would be our efforts in the salvation of Satan-blinded, Christ- rejecting. hell-bound sinners. Another captivating subject is Mis¬ sions. Studying the biographies of mis¬ sionaries and certain specific fields we Continued on page 3 8 Menno Kroeker If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be asham¬ ed. Rom. 10:9,11.
