EXECUTIVE OFFICER Marvin J. Bucholz Lieutenant Commander Bucholz was born in Cando, North Dakota and graduated from the University of North Dakota. Upon completion of Officer Candidate School he was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve in December of 1964. He later completed courses of instruction at Destroyer School in Newport, Rhode Island in l97l and at Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia in 1975. Initially at sea, Lieutenant Commander Bucholz served as Main Propulsion Assistant, Engineering Officer and First Lieutenant in USS PAGE COUNTY KLST-10769 and subsequently as Executive Officer in USS JOHN S. MCCAIN QDDG-365. He has also served as Flag Secretary and Personal Aide to Commander Task Force Seven Six. ln addition, Lieutenant Commander Bucholz has served as Future Operations Assistant on the Staff of Commander Amphibious Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet. Lieutenant Commander Bucholz is authorized to wear two Navy Commendation Medals with V . He is married to the former Marilyn Wilson of La Mesa, California and they have two sons, Chad and Clint. Commander Robert M. Gillett, jr. , is the son of Vice Admiral 1Medical Corps, U.S. Navy Retiredj and Mrs. R.M. Gillett of San Diego, California, and is a graduate of the Bolles School of jacksonville, Florida and San Diego City College. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from San Diego State University and furthered his post graduate education in the Navy at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California. Commander Gillett entered the Naval Service in August 1958 through the Officer Candidate School at Newport, Rhode Island. Upon receiving his commission as Ensign, he reported to USS BRAINE QDD-6305, serving three years as First Lieutenant, ASW Officer and Weapons Officer. I-Ie next reported to USS STONE COUNTY QLST-1l4ly as Executive Officer. Subsequent duty assignments have been instructor in Anti-Air Warfare at the Fleet Combat Training Center Pacific, Operations Officer of USS HERBERT 1. THOMAS QDD- 833jg Assistant Surface Officer and Surface Strike Warfare Officer on the Staff of Commander Attack Carrier Striking Force, U.S. Seventh Fleetg student at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Californiag commissioning Executive Officer, USS WHIPPLE QFF-l062Jg Deputy Communications fOperations Officer on the Staff of Commander Naval Base Pearl Harbor HawaiifCommandant Fourteenth Naval District and Assistant Operations Officer Naval Communications Area Master Station Honolulu and most recently, Combat Systems and Operations Officer, USS CHICAGO CCG-115. Commander Gillett has been decorated with the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V and a second decoration. He also holds the following awards: Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Silver Star, The Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Battle E Award. Commander Gillett resides with his wife the former Linda Pelton of San Diego, California and their two daughters, jennifer and Dana.

5 EXECUTIVE OFFICER Keith M. Arndt Lieutenant Commander Arndt was born in Seattle, Washington and attended schools in Richland, Washington. He is a graduate of Washington State University and was commissioned an Ensign upon completion of Naval Officer Candidate School in june 1965. Lieutenant Commander Arndt's initial assignment was the amphibious ship USS TORTUGA fLSD-261 in which he served as A Communications Officer. His next tour of duty was as Officer-in-Charge of a PCF qSwift Boatj operation out of Qui Nhon, Vietnam from june 1967 to june 1968 Lieutenant Commander Arn . . d then served on the staff of Commandant, I ELEVENTH Naval District in San Diego prior to attending Naval Destroyer School, Newport, Rhode Island in 1970. Upon graduation from Naval Destroyer School, he served as Operations Officer aboard the destroyer USS HANSON QDD-8325. Following an assignment as Commanding Officer, Naval Reserve Center, Vallejo, California he was ordered to Headquarters, Navy Recruiting Area EIGHT in San Francisco. Lieutenant Commander Arndt graduated with highest distinction from the Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island in july 1976 and then served as Flag Secretary and Aide to .
