Foreword School is The Place Where . . . School is The Place Where the young, supple minds of the world are molded. These young minds belong to the potential world leaders. School is The Place Where education is acquired. Webster defines education as: The systematic training of the intellectual faculties. School is where new ideas are expressed, old knowledge is taught, and where both are combined to form a workable plan. But school isn't all study and drudgery. It is a place where fun is created and sometimes just happens. There are many activities within the school that are fun, both recreational and creative. Steele Public School is The Place Where the entire administration is dedicated to instilling a spirit of democracy. We seniors can leave with many grateful mem- ories for the advantages offered to us by the democratic and progressive spirit of our school. We can now go out prepared to face life and interpret its problems better. This is why we, the Annual Staff of 1960, hope this, the twelfth annual, reflects these days of preparation and truly illustrates school is The Place Where . . . -2-
