51 e 1 041 ' 1 unior gfada In the fall of l9L9 an event of stellar importance occurred at Steele City High School. The greatest freshmen class in the history of the school was to begin climbing the ladder of schol- arship, achievement, service, and all of those facets of educa- tion which high school pupils strive to assimilate. We numbered ten strong boasting such distinguished person- ages in our midst as Donald Banahan, Larry Banahan, Beverly Darling, Richard Eden, Dwight Garrett, Elaine Graff, Lorraine Kulhanek, Roger Meyer, Sharon Riddle, and Bill Zabokrtsky. Our first exposure to the mis-guided ways of the upper classmen befell us one day when certain initiation ceremonies were administered by the Sophomore class as their warning to be- ware of the powers that be Cnamely--Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Pupilsl. Rapidly learning the ways and means of getting along in high school we moved on to our Sophomore year. Roger Meyer left the class early in the year thus diminishing the group to its present number of nine. The Freshmen class which followed us into high school had been wary of the evils to befall them if they did not properly recognize the most important group. They properly and im ediately had a party in honor of our class and gave us further distinction by choosing Bill Zabokrtsky and Lorraine Kulhanek as most popular Sophomore boy and girl. We congratulate this group for their wise action. The Class Play, The Class Ring, The Class Party, and our toast to those charming young ladies who comprised the Senior Class of '52 were some of the many memorable -experiences which have befallen us during our present JUNIOR YEAR. We wish to extend our best wishes to all of those pupils and teachers who have done so much to make our third year in S.C.H.S. the time of our lives.
