To the Class of 1959: As you stand on the threshold of your graduation from high school, preparing to step into the arena of your life work, I would ask you to take four maxims with you. Put your fa ith in God; be of good cha r - acter; be creative; and always be faith- ful to the ideals that made this nation great. Farewell, and God bless you all. - Miller J. Stewart Principal Seniors: In this space age when so much em- phasis is placed on the shortage of sci- entists and engineers, you need be con- cerned with doing only what you do to the best of your ability. There is also a shortage of good doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and teach- ers - and I am sad to say, of good po- litical leaders. Our country is long on shortages. It is sound procedure to do well that which you have an aptitude to do, and in so doing to be governed by those ethical principles which have gov - erned good Christians for nearly two thousand years.
