Between dances, Patty M. went to the powder room, telling Ray C. she would only be a minute. But she met Willa Beth P. and Peggy B. whom she hadn't seen for ages. The conversation went on and on until someone handed her a note. In a masculine hand was written this message: Can't understand why you haven't written. Jerry P.: Dad, when I go to college, I'll need an encyclopedia. ” Mr. Palmer; Encyclopedia nothing. You'll walk to classes like other boys. Mrs. Franz: Are you the boy who jumped into the river and saved my daughter? Gene C: Yes, Ma'am. Traffic Officer: How can you be so sure you weren’t exceeding the speed limit? Tom H. I was on my way to the dentists. Mrs. Franz: Well, where are her overshoes? Mr. Telk: Where was the Declaration of Independence signed, Norman? Norman S.: At the bottom, I suppose. Coach Telk: No, you must’nt smoke. Men who smoke too much tobacco get tobacco heart and people who drink too much coffee get coffee heart. Lawrence S.: If I eat a lot of sweet things will I get a sweetheart? Carol M.: Was your grandfather always in the habit of talking to himself when he was alone? Dorothy S.: To tell you the truth, I never was with him when he was alone. Mr. Boge: Give me an example of wasted energy, Tom. Tom J.: Telling Mr. Stewart a hair-raising story. Dick T.: Ask mother if we can go to the movies. Jerry T.: You ask her, you’ve known her longer than I have. One of the girls in the senior class had received an engagement ring the night before but to her chagrin no one at high school noticed it. Finally in the after- noon, when her friends were sitting around talking, she stood up suddenly. My it’s hot in here, she announced. I think I’ll take off my ring. ” Angry boss: You should have been here at nine! LaRae B.: Why? What happened? When Larry G. came to school, Stewart P. ’s dog rushed across the street and licked his face. Larry screamed and Stew came running. Did my dog bite you? asked Stew. No, sobbed Larry, But he tasted me! Mr. Stewart received the following note from Mrs. Bryan: Please excuse Betty for being late this morning. Nine o'clock came sooner than we expected. If you can't laugh at the jokes of the age — Laugh at the age of the jokes. As Barbara S. stepped off the scales Cheron C. asked, What's the verdict? A little overweight? Oh, no, replied Barbara, But according to the height table printed on that scale, I should be about six inches taller. Dude S.; Hey, rabbit, what are you doing in my ice box?” Live rabbit; Ain't this a Westinghouse? Dude: Yes Rabbit: Well, I's westing. You would not knock the jokes we use, could you but see those we refuse. Mr. Foster; Who was Homer? Larry L; That's the guy Babe Ruth made famous.
