One of their goals has been to learn to cope with problems. Their Se- nior year gives them plenty of opportunities. For instance: learning parliamentary proce- dure, understanding Hamlet, and surviving through College Boards are at the top of the list. On the creative level, the problems of thinking up_ be- lievable excuses for the days skipped can challenge even the pro. Physical Education Department In addition to the regular physical education courses there is now a class of ad- vanced P.E. for those who want to take it beyond the re- quired three years. Among the sports studied in the course are bowling, tennis, volleyball, ping-pong, and trampoline. A field trip to Smith Mountain Lake helped to increase swim- ming skills. The course seems to be a big success and the stu- dents have enjoyed it a lot. Although it was not a winning season: 2 wins and 8 losses, it was of better spirit and morale. One important improvement was togetherness. These guys did not just practice and play together, they worked to- gether, relied on each other, and were a team in every sense of the word.
