STUDENT COUNCIL The only reason Charlie comes to the meetings. The Student Council consists of twenty members — four Freshmen, six Sophomores, four Juniors, and six Seniors. However, the Student Council amended their constitution this year calling for the addition of two more representatives from the Junior class, effective the following school year, thus changing the total number of representatives from twenty to twenty-two. Our Secretary At Work. The Student Council sponsors four assembly programs during the course of the school year and puts on the annual Christmas program. They sponsor the Homecoming Dance and raise money for charities. They also donate money to other school organizations including the Echo Staff and Cheerleaders. Overall, they are one of the most active school organizations. STAFF MEMBERS: Co-Edi- tors, JoAnn Henkhaus and Gina Mengelkamp, Seniors: Tom Bahn, Bill Katich, Debby Mar- shall, Angie Rantanen, and Kimberly Anne Wright. Ju- niors: Lori Albertini, Leslie Bahn, and Julie Blotevogel. Sophomore: Kari Mengelkamp. ECHO STAFF CANDIDS I knew I should have used Head Shoulders this morning. Isn’t she cute? The South Central Conference was formed in 1926, and this is the sixth time the Bulldogs have been a part of the conference crown and only the second time Staunton has won the conference outright; the other time being in 1945. The Freshman-Sophomore team is co-conference champion sharing the title with Southwestern. The Varsity Finished the regular season with a record of 19-7 and 10-2 in conference play. The Junior Varsity and Freshman- Sophomore combined record was an impressive 17-1. These boys will continue, hopefully, to work together and improve, thereby assuring Staunton a successful future basketball program. The team felt that a big reason for their successful program was the strong and loud support of Staunton fans who traveled through bad weather to be at most of the games, and they wish to express their sincere thanks to these fans for their support throughout the season.
