He attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and then went into the military service for four years. He began his teaching career at Staunton High School in 1954. He taught Industrial Art at high school level for twelve years at Staunton. Mr. Mountain was also Dean of Boys here for ten years and was a Guidance Counsellor for four years. Mr. Mountain was starting his seventh year as a psychologist for schools of Staunton, Mt. Olive, Gillespie, and Bunker Hill.
