Seniors! This called for a celebration; and actually, the celebration lasted all year. We tried at all times to perform a minimum of work and to have a maximum of fun. We elected as president Jim Blanco; vice president Don Sievers; and secretary-treasurer DelRue Heitte. Our student council representatives were Barbara Bronstein, Meridel Coalson, Vernell Vyvial, Rick France, Ken Hochmuth, and Mike Yakos. Mrs. Yakos and Mr. Mountain were our class sponsors. Kendra Wenner was our Queen and her attendants were Mary Vesper, DelRue Heitte, and Merrilee Angal. Our class pictures arrived in time to be given for Christmas. We received our announcements and name cards and were fitted for our robes for graduation. Our commencement was June 1, 1961. Several honors and awards were given to outstanding seniors. So completes our senior year at S.H. S. We have only to look back and recall memories. To the seniors these words of advice: To be what we are and to become what we are capable of becoming is the only end of life. 22
