ere runs to victory in 220- neck and neck to the finish line. As the Criterion goes to press another month remains before the first district track meet. Statesboro rated third place last year and sent several contestants to the State Meet in Macon. jere Fletcher, who placed third in the 100-yard dash and was barely nosed out for the first honors in the 220-yard dash, returns this spring and should cop several wins in the dashes and sprints. More enthusiasm is being shown by the boys this year than usual and all indica- tions point to a triumphant day for them, come April l7. S.H.S. grabs new honoi in track. One would think fall had returned to S.H.S. by the way juniors, sophomores, and freshmen are talking about football prospects. Every afternoon, the thud of the pigskin and the Hup-2-5-4 of calisthenics can be heard from the practice field. NY'ith eight returning lettermen and an undefeated B Team. Coach Hall has high hopes of building a champion- ship team during the annual spring practice. The coming of hot summer days turns one's thoughts to our swimming pool and all the picnics and jolly-good times that go hand in hand with this enjoyable past time.
