Cunningham, Executive Committee DEAN OF STUDENT AFFAIRS ADMINISTRATIVE AFFAIRS From its location near the President's Office, Administra- | tive Affairs spreads its tentacles throughout campus and —E | beyond. The primary focus is on placement, resource devel- opment, institutional grants, institutional relations involving new training opportunities through industrial relations, pub- lic relations, minority affairs, and the off-campus operations of co-operative education. Part of the personnel and activity of Administrative Affairs is located in rented offices in the Shelby Oaks Complex across the expressway from the Insti- tute. There are about ten Administrative Affairs persons at Shelby Oaks and in Dunn Building. Dr.Warner Dickerson, DIRECTOR, STUDENT AFFAIRS “A service organization to help instruction and enhance the life of the whole student’ is the apt description of the deanery that is Student Affairs. Representatives of the area have contact with students from the time they think of enter- ing State Tech until they depart through graduation or other routes. Included in the Student Affairs area are: Admissions and Records, High School Recruiting, Counseling, Testing, Financial Aid, Veterans Affairs and Student Activities such as clubs, organizations and intramurals. Student Affairs’ main office is on the ground floor of Thornton Building. The area is a beehive of activity which includes both the pleasant and not-so-pleasant aspects of student life. Students with academic or personal problems usually find their way to the helping hands of Student Affairs. The organization also works closely with the Student Gov- ernment Association in all its activities and serves as a test- ing center for several national examinations on a regular basis. Student Affairs is responsible for student publications, which include the yearbook, student handbook and the cam- Pus newspaper. ADMINISTRATIVE AFFAIRS 87
