uniafz. param - 1946 The graduating class of l947 had its Junior Prom on June 7, l946. A banquet preceding the prom was enjoyed by the Junior Class and faculty members. Fred Cizek's orchestra played for the dance, The most important event of the evening was the crowning of Prom Queen Barbara Goodwin. ln the picture you see seated, left to right: Carol Taflinger, Frances Lemaire, Bar- bara Goodwin lqueenl, Pat McCarthy, and Naia Chopson. Zlfeflaiwz' dh uJe'7a... Jim Martin, who placed second in the constitution oratorical contest. The Voice Of The People heard over W.B.O.W. every Monday afternoon at 4:30. I Lyle Disney for his excellent work with the basketball team, and for making a place on the 'Western Conference team. Mary Nasser for winning the D.A.R. award for good citizensihp. The Junior Varsity team which finished the season as city champions among B teams. Mrs. Bolt for producing and directing the school plays. Miss Temple and Mr. Headdy for a job well done in having sponsored the senior class. The casts of The Tinker, and Tiger House for their long and difficult task in pre- senting these two plays. . Our cheer leaders for working so arduously during our basketball season. The seniors that started to Statc in the first grade and have been here until their gradu- ation, namely, Jim Harris, John Harris, and Mary Nasser. Others who started here in the first grade, attended other schools, but who are graduating from here are Jean Harden, Marie Starrett and Lois, Sloan. Jack Watson for so diligently working for 5 or 6 years as technician in the Sycamore Theater. He worked with the Sycamore players also. Eileen Bonney and Rosedeana Robertson for placing first in the vocal solo contest at Greencastle. The girls' and boys' ensembles that placed first in the vocal contest at Greencastle. The band ensembles that placea first in the contest at Greencastle. Those musicians who entered the Greencastle contest but were unable to place first. Better luck next time. The groups that went to all-state chorus at Indianapolis. Frances LeMaire, who had one of the leading roles in the Community Theatre perform- ance of Desert Song. Those who were elected to the National Honor Society. Students who have a record of perfect attendance. Carol Taflinger and Mary Lillian Hughes, whose papers were submitted to the national contest on United Nations. Miss Williams, who did so much work for the yearbook. God is its author, and not man, He laid The keynote of all harmonies, He planned All perfect combinations, and He made Us so that we could hear and understand. -Brainard.
