SENIOR G. A. A. Q FORUM CLUB ' The Girls' Athletir Assoeiation is a club having for its purpose that of stimulating interest in girls' healthiand promoting high ideals and sportsmanship. They have sponsored a badminton tournament and the annual basketball tournament for glrls. The present eondi- tions of our country have cut down the activities of this organization, whit-h meets every Tuesday evening after sm-bool. The sponsor of this athletic 1-luh is Miss Mary Fread. Meetings are held every Thursday for the purpose of diseussing problems and phases of the war sit- uation. ' , ' Associated with the Forum Club is the debate team, which has participated in debates with several schools. The debate group islmade up of Dorothy Nelson, Donna Mae Smith, Lois Mabley, Marcella Mi-Intyre, .Mary Trueb, Frank MeAuliFfe'g and Arthur Rogers. The teafn is coarhed by Alan Huckleberry of the Speech Department, aided by Barbara Lilney and Ch2iI'l0S GBUS of I-IIC 'clvll'-MIB. D. A . SAFETY PATROL 0 JUNIOR RED CROSS Major, Billy Greer: Captain, Tobert Wiekardg Captain, Jimmy Joe Blair. The safety patrol, under the dire.-tion of Mr. Fred Harris, has been one of the most at-tive groups of young students in the si-hool this year. The members faithfully direeted the school traffic in rain, shine, or zero weather. Their activities this year were as follows: I. Regular patrol duties, 2. Weekly gymnasium periods iafter school, 3. This organiz-ation is 4-omposed of all the pupils in'each homeroom group. The functioning unit is the Clount-il, composed of two rep- resentatives from eavh homeroom from Kindergarten through grade twelve. The Couneil met regularly l.o dist-uss problems of importanee. At Thanksgiving, baskets were provided for unfortunate families in the community. At Christmas, toys and fruit were taken to the Day Nursey. The .Iunior Red Cnoss also sent magazines to the Boys' Club and throughout the year ro-operated with senior organizations in their artivities. Row I.
