6 f' 9' r I' f 'a 'Z Gazing at the new auditorium, two seniors are greatly impressed. Our beautiful new Senior High School building began as a concept in the mind of an architect as based upon the needs of a town or city. lt grew and matured into a plan with a definite shape and design-ba thing of beauty and simplicity. ln changing it became a composite of the ideas of many men, but it was still just a thoughtg just lines on paper. Suddenly it was transformed: it became a thing of concrete, steel, and glass-a real structure to be seen, to be touched, to be admired, and to be-used. Thus, the new College Area Senior High School building was planned and constructed by the work and sweat of many men. The building committee of the Board of Education was directly responsible for the recommendations that led to the construction of this new institution of learning. They recommended the site of our new building and the choice of an architect. These recommendations were approved by the Board of Education and the Building Authority. wVe would like to thank these men who have given a great deal of their time and talents so that we can enjoy this ultra-modern structure. The committee included Fred Hoffman, chairman and representative of College Township, David Barr, Half Moon Township representative: Russell Brennan. representative of Ferguson Township, Dr. john Schempf, Harris Township representativeg Raymond V. Wfatkins, Borough representativeg and Clar- ence Ziegler, representative of Patton Township. At the beginning of our senior year we began a new school life. Wfe greeted the ensuing year with mixed emotions-a little fear and a great deal of excitement. Each discovery brought varied impressions to the students. To many, the first and most important impression was the beauty and majesty of this edifice. Throughout this annual, we will try to convey the various impressions of the students as they see the College Area Senior High School for the first time.
