A LQ row 1: benny smith, mark mangold, bruce cory. row 2: paul smith, john boulden, john cook. this year's well rounded cross country team proved to be the most successful ever in starpoint's history. the spartan harriers began their season with an explosive performance by sweeping the grand island invitational. the next two invitationals proved equally commendable. finishing second at mcquaid and first at Williamsville expanded the team's trophy collection. by the end of the season the spartan,s record was: ll-O league meets, 14-0 dual meets, and an amazing 78-2 over- all season record. the two slim defeats came from hilton and archrival, fredoniag the latter resulting in second place, section 6 for starpoint runners. individual awards were plentiful as ll members received var- sity letters. co-captains geoff boulden and greg goodman re- ceived all-league honors linishing second and fifth respectively, followed by kevin Scranton finishing eighth. geoff also finished second in both sectional and stage class B. congratulations to the finest team ever at starpoint.
