Stegner. Row three: B. Greig M. Keller, B. Moje, B. O'Malley, A. Dierken, J. Hey, D. Kroll, R. Smith Row four: P. Hurst, P. Hagan, B. Sisley, T. Sherwood, A. Hurst, D. Voel- ker, B. Vesper, C. Speck. Row five: P. Barry, J. Calvert, C. Barry, T. Allen. This year's Varsity Club prospered greatly under the leader- ship of the newly elected officers who were: Clip Class, President: Joe Monkelbaan, Vice Presidentg Harry Shenk, Secretary, and Jim Ellis, Treasurer. The Varsity Club ran the concessions during the fall and win- ter sports seasons. The Club also sponsored 'sock hops' after most Friday night home basketball games. Members helped out on the buses going to games at other schools by assisting the chap- erones. In December, the annual 'Homecoming Dance' was held in the gym. All the alumni were invited to get together and spend the evening dancing and talking about old times. This successful year was climaxed by the 7th annual Sports Banquet. Here, the Spartan athletes dined, received awards, and pensively listened to a well-known guest speaker. 82 1
