Janet Gregory and Patsy Bailey were her Maids of Honor. Captain Froggie Daniels crowned the Queen, Co- captain Leslie Drane presented her a beautiful bouquet of red roses. The Maids were then escorted off the field. Queen Anne and her Maids of Honor were driven around the field in a convertible. Homecoming Day started in the auditorium with an assembly program featuring the beauties and favorites. At ll:O0 the Homecoming pa- rade began featuring the floats sponsored by the various classes, The Cheerleaders staged a pep rally Friday afternoon in the auditorium, The student body joined with the Cheerleaders in chanting the yells, The high point of the day was the pre- ame ceremony on Jaycee Field begore the Jacket's game with the Ackerman Indians, Mor- ris Adams, master of ceremonies, introduced the Maids and their escorts. Shep Crigler, one of the leading members of the Senior Class, has lettered in baseball, basketball, and football. He has been a member of the S Club, Presidents' Council, Youth Center Council, Math Club, Community Youth Council, and the Junior and Senior Play Casts. On the Hi-Jacket staff, he has served as sports editor, and editor, ln the Who's Who Contest he was named most outstanding Freshman, Sopho- more, Junior, and Senior. Shep is a member of the Presbyterian Church. 1954 lla Janet Gregory, a very active student at S, H, S, , has been a mem- ber of the Cxlee Club, Y-Teens, F, H. A. , 4-H Club, Physical Ed. Club, The French Club in which she was an officer, and the Community Youth Council. On the Hi-Jacket staff, she has served as copy reader and fashion editor. Janet has also been class editor and feature editor of the an- nual. She was elected a cheerleader and Yellow Jacket beauty. This year Janet was Maid of Honor in the Homecoming Court. She was crown- ed Queen ofthe Dairy Festival also. ln the Who's Who Contest, Janet was most beautiful, friendliest, andmost charming. She is a member of the Methodist Church.
