This contest, which is held in laclc son, is the culmination ot the years activities and at this time the results ot all the blood, sweat, and tears pay oft. Under the leadership ol lVlr D. VV. Barton our band has become one ol the linest in the state, havina won lil siirverior' rulaaues and nuf merous achievement certilicates. This year there is a total enrollment ot lOO with 60 ir the tirst band and 40 in thc- second and third groups, The members ot the Starkville band not only come out imbued with the principles ot music, but they learn the value ot discipline and cooperation with the group.
