V' The Language Arts Depart- ment includes courses in Eng- lish, Speech, Journalism, Lat- in and Spanish. The purpose of Language Arts is to train students to speak, write, read and listen well. This is done by the study of grammar, American Literature, English Literature, foreign languages, Speech and Journalism. Above, examining this Shakespearian theater, are Mr. Cecil Lake, Senior English teacher, Mrs. Barbara Boatwright, Speech teacher, and Miss Vera Jeffrey, Junior English and Spanish teacher.
