0 It was a grand and glorious thing that happened in the fall of 1955, for it was then that the future class of '59 made its way into Starbuck High School as freshmen. Our class consisted of the following 52 persons: Cynthia Aal, Alice Anderson, Karen Ask, Paul Bardal, Ronald Bardal, Erling Barsness, Geraldine Barsness, Monika Baukol, Doris Benson Janice Benson, Annette Berg, Richard Burman, Walter Eliason, Wayne Erickson, Alta Evensvold, Mark Forde, Phillip Giesen, Phyllis Culbranson, Joan Hagen, Marjorie Hal- vorson, Jean Heggestad, Dorothy Helgeson, Priscilla Holten, Herbert Jellum, David Jenkins, Gary Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Bruce Knutson, Dale Krogstad, James Larson, Dennis Martinson, Patricia Moen, Sharon Nordaune, George Noyes, John Olson, Dianne Pederson, Mary Pederson, David Peterson, Vallory Peterson, Janet Smedstad, Chandra Sorenson, Marcia Stenson, Dennis Sunde, David Tollefson, Grace Tollefson, Larry Vox- land, Larry Wilke, Lloyd Wilke, Lo Anne Williams, and Dennis Wittwer. Officers for that year were as follows: Mary Pederson, president, Phyllis Culbranson, vice president, Sharon Nordaune, secretary, and Wayne Erickson, treasurer. Mr. Gray became our class advisor and Phillip Giesen represented our class on the Student Coun- cil. Our Homecoming attendant was Janet Smedstad escorted by David Tollefson. We came back to school for our Sophomore year feeling thankful for having weathered the first year quite successfully, but determined to do better in our second. Our enroll- ment had dropped to 42 since Dick Burman, Dennis Martinson, Herbert Jellum, David Jenkins, Monika Baukol, George Noyes, Dennis Wittwer, Doris Benson, Janice Benson, and Marcia Stenson had left us. Out of the remaining students we chose David Tollef- son, president, Wayne Erickson, vice president, Karen Ask, secretary, and Gary Johnson, treasurer. Our class advisor was Mr. Bjorgo and our Student Council representatives were Phillip Giesen and Grace Tollefson. Grace was also chosen as our Homecoming attendant with Wayne Erickson as her escort. During our Junior year we really kept jumping from one project to another. Our attentions were mainly turned toward Rest Assured, our class play. A great deal of our activities that year were used for the purpose of raising money for the Junior-Senior prom, Ebb Tide. We again found we were missing some former classmates: Joan Hagen, Phillip Giesen, Dorothy Helgeson, Wayne Johnson, Annette Berg and James Larson. Larol Korsness, Gaylen Meegard, and Lance Boyd had joined our class to make our enrollment total 39. As Juniors our officers were president, Lloyd Wilke, vice president, Cynthia Aal, secretary, Jean Heggestad, treasurer, Grace Tollefson, Mary Pederson, escorted by Larry Voxland, was our Junior Homecoming attendant. Chandra Sorenson, Sharon Nordaune, and Wayne Erickson were elected to the Student Council and Mr. Ring and Miss Hyland were our class advisors. Our Girl and Boy Staters were Mary Pederson and Lloyd Wilke. Our last year as Seniors found Grace Tollefson and Wayne Erickson as Homecoming Queen and King. Their attendants were Ofnthia Aal, Mary Pederson, Janet Smedstad, Paul Bardal, John Olson, and Dennis Sunde. Mr. Janisch became our Senior class ad- visor. We chose Sharon Nordaune, Mark Forde, Cynthia Aal, and Dennis Sunde as Stu- dent Councilrepresentatives. Our class officers were Erling Barsness, president, Grace Tollefson, vice president, Janet Smedstad, secretary, and Ronald Bardal, treasurer. Phyllis Gulbranson had left us reducing our enrollment to 38. The Senior class play, Junior-Senior Banquet, senior skip day, Baccalaureate, and Commencement will long be remembered as we closed our Senior year. We were able to attend Starbuck High School for these four years as a result of the tire- less efforts of our parents, the faculty and the school board. We wish to thank them for the education which they have made available to us. Twelve Ye ar Cellmates
